Intraspecifikus, commonly referred to in biology as intraspecific, denotes processes, interactions, or variation that occur among individuals within the same species. It is contrasted with interspecific interactions, which involve members of different species.

A central area is intraspecific competition, where individuals vie for limited resources such as food, space, or mates. This form of competition can regulate population size, influence resource use, and contribute to density-dependent effects on growth and survival. Models of population dynamics often include density-dependent terms to reflect intraspecific interactions, and carrying capacity emerges partly from such competition.

Reproduction and social behavior are other key domains. Intraspecific mating systems, mate choice, and patterns of parental care or cooperation shape genetic structure and fitness within populations. Inbreeding and kin selection are notable intra-species phenomena that affect genetic diversity and social dynamics, sometimes leading to inbreeding depression or, alternatively, facilitated cooperation among relatives.

Genetic and phenotypic variation within a species is a major subject of intraspecific study. Sources of variation include mutation, recombination, gene flow, and genetic drift. This variation provides the raw material for natural selection and enables adaptation to diverse environments or changing conditions, as well as niche differentiation within a species.

Intraspecific interactions can influence ecosystem processes indirectly, for example through how a species partitions resources or modulates local densities, which in turn affect other species. While intraspecific is the standard term in English, some languages or older texts use intraspecifikus as a direct translation for the same concept.
