The determination of interceptability relies on several factors. Relative speed and maneuverability, predicted intercept geometry, sensor coverage and data fusion quality, interceptor performance, and available response time all influence whether a target is deemed interceptable. Analysts often model interceptability with engagement envelopes, time-to-intercept estimates, and an interceptability index or window that summarizes the feasibility under given conditions.
