Integraallülitustest is a Estonian term that translates to "integrated circuit testing" in English. It refers to the process of verifying that an integrated circuit, also known as a microchip or chip, functions correctly and meets its design specifications. This testing is a crucial part of the semiconductor manufacturing process, ensuring the reliability and performance of electronic devices.

The testing process typically begins during the wafer fabrication stage, where individual dies on a silicon wafer are tested before being cut. This initial testing, often referred to as wafer probing, identifies and marks defective dies. After the wafer is diced into individual chips and packaged, further testing is conducted. These post-package tests are more comprehensive, simulating various operating conditions and input signals to check for functionality, speed, power consumption, and potential defects that may have occurred during packaging.

Various testing methodologies are employed, including functional testing, parametric testing, and stress testing. Functional testing verifies that the chip performs its intended logical operations. Parametric testing measures electrical characteristics like voltage levels and current. Stress testing involves subjecting the chip to extreme temperatures or voltages to assess its robustness and identify potential failure mechanisms. Automated test equipment (ATE) is widely used to perform these tests efficiently and at high volumes.
