Injektioniminen, often referred to as injection molding in English, is a manufacturing process used to produce parts by injecting molten material into a mold. This method is widely employed for creating a variety of plastic parts, ranging from simple components to complex designs.

The process begins with a mold, typically made of steel or aluminum, which contains a cavity shaped like the desired part. This mold is mounted within an injection molding machine. Granular plastic material is fed into a heated barrel where it is melted and plasticized. Once the material reaches the desired temperature and viscosity, a screw mechanism forces it under high pressure through a nozzle and into the mold cavity. The mold is kept closed under pressure during this injection phase.

After injection, the molten material cools and solidifies within the mold. Once sufficiently hardened, the mold opens, and the finished part is ejected. The cycle then repeats for the next part. This process is highly efficient for mass production due to its speed and ability to create intricate shapes with high precision. It is used across numerous industries, including automotive, electronics, medical devices, and consumer goods, for producing everything from car bumpers and electronic casings to syringes and toy components.
