Hólyagdaganatok refers to tumors that develop in the urinary bladder. These can be benign or malignant. Benign tumors are non-cancerous and do not spread to other parts of the body. Malignant tumors are cancerous and have the potential to invade surrounding tissues and metastasize to distant organs.

The most common type of bladder cancer is urothelial carcinoma, which arises from the cells lining the inside of the bladder. Other less common types include squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma. Risk factors for developing bladder tumors include smoking, exposure to certain chemicals, chronic bladder inflammation, and a history of radiation therapy to the pelvic area.

Symptoms of bladder tumors can vary but often include hematuria (blood in the urine), which may appear as pink, red, or cola-colored urine. Other possible symptoms include frequent urination, painful urination, and a persistent urge to urinate. In some cases, bladder tumors may be asymptomatic and discovered incidentally during medical imaging for other conditions.

Diagnosis typically involves a physical examination, urinalysis to detect blood or abnormal cells, and imaging tests such as ultrasound, CT scans, or MRI. Cystoscopy, a procedure where a thin, flexible tube with a camera is inserted into the bladder, allows for direct visualization of the tumor and biopsy.

Treatment for bladder tumors depends on the type, stage, and grade of the tumor, as well as the patient's overall health. Treatment options may include surgery to remove the tumor (transurethral resection of bladder tumor or cystectomy), intravesical chemotherapy or immunotherapy (medications instilled directly into the bladder), and systemic chemotherapy or radiation therapy for more advanced cancers. Regular follow-up examinations are crucial after treatment to monitor for recurrence.
