Hyperreactive is an adjective used in multiple scientific fields to describe a level of response that is unusually strong or sensitive relative to a standard or baseline. The term does not denote a single formal diagnosis or phenomenon, but rather a descriptive label indicating heightened reactivity in a given context.

In medicine and physiology, hyperreactivity often refers to an exaggerated response of a biological system to a stimulus. For example, airway hyperreactivity describes airways that constrict more readily in response to irritants or triggers, a feature commonly assessed in asthma. Immunological hyperreactivity can involve an amplified inflammatory or allergic response to ordinarily harmless substances.
