hylle

A hylle is a flat, horizontal surface used to store, organize, or display objects. In Norwegian as well as Danish and Swedish, the word hylle (or hylde/hylla) covers shelves in furniture and architectural contexts, referring to both simple ledges and more complex shelving systems.
