A hybrid electric vehicle, or HEV, is a type of motor vehicle that combines a conventional internal combustion engine with an electric motor. This combination allows the vehicle to operate in a more fuel-efficient manner than a gasoline-only vehicle. The electric motor can assist the gasoline engine during acceleration or when driving at lower speeds, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
