Hestory is a term that refers to the history of horses and their relationship with humans. This encompasses their domestication, breeding, and the various roles they have played throughout human civilization. The earliest evidence of horse domestication is believed to originate from the Botai culture in present-day Kazakhstan around 3500 BCE. Initially, horses may have been used for meat and milk before their utility as mounts and for traction was fully realized.

The domestication of horses had a profound impact on human societies. It facilitated faster travel, improved warfare capabilities through cavalry, and transformed agriculture with the development of the plow.
