Hardware refers to the physical components of a computer system. This includes all the tangible parts that you can see and touch. The central processing unit, or CPU, is often called the brain of the computer, responsible for executing instructions. Memory, or RAM, is where the computer temporarily stores data it is actively using. Storage devices, such as hard drives or solid-state drives (SSDs), are used for long-term data storage.

Input devices allow users to interact with the computer, examples being keyboards, mice, and touchscreens. Output devices display or convey information from the computer to the user; common examples include monitors, printers, and speakers. The motherboard acts as the main circuit board, connecting all the other hardware components. Graphics processing units (GPUs) are specialized processors for rendering images and video. Power supply units (PSUs) provide electricity to all the components. Together, these physical elements form the hardware that enables a computer to function and perform various tasks. Without hardware, a computer would be inoperable.
