Hangszórót is the Hungarian word for loudspeaker or speaker. A loudspeaker is a device that converts electrical audio signals into sound waves. It is a fundamental component in audio reproduction systems, found in everything from home stereo systems and televisions to portable music players and public address systems.

The basic principle of operation for most loudspeakers involves an electromagnet. An electrical current, representing the audio signal, flows through a coil of wire attached to a diaphragm. This coil is positioned within a magnetic field, typically created by a permanent magnet. As the audio signal's current changes, it causes the coil and the attached diaphragm to vibrate. Smaller, lighter diaphragms and coils are generally better suited for high frequencies (treble), while larger, more robust drivers are used for lower frequencies (bass). Different types of loudspeakers exist, including cone speakers, dome speakers, and horn speakers, each with its own acoustic characteristics and efficiency.
