Hangszórókból is the Hungarian plural form for "loudspeakers." A loudspeaker is an electroacoustic transducer that converts an electrical audio signal into a corresponding sound. This is typically achieved by an electromagnetically driven diaphragm that vibrates. Loudspeakers are essential components in audio systems, found in everything from home stereo systems and car audio to portable electronic devices and public address systems.

The basic principle of operation involves an electrical current passing through a voice coil, which is usually attached to a cone-shaped diaphragm. This coil is placed within a magnetic field, typically generated by a permanent magnet. As the audio signal, which is an alternating current, flows through the voice coil, it creates a varying magnetic field that interacts with the permanent magnet's field. This interaction causes the voice coil and the attached diaphragm to move back and forth, displacing air and producing sound waves.

Various types of loudspeakers exist, each designed for specific applications and frequency ranges. These include woofers for low frequencies, mid-range drivers for middle frequencies, and tweeters for high frequencies. Often, multiple types of drivers are combined within a single enclosure, known as a speaker cabinet or enclosure, to reproduce the full spectrum of audible sound. The design of the enclosure also plays a crucial role in the overall sound quality, affecting factors like bass response and clarity.
