glasgjutning
Glasgjutning, or glass casting, is a glass forming technique that involves melting glass in a mold. This process allows for the creation of intricate and detailed glass objects. The most common method is lost-wax casting, also known as cire perdue. In this technique, a wax model of the desired object is created. This wax model is then coated with a refractory material, forming a mold. Once the mold is hardened, the wax is melted and drained away, leaving a cavity in the shape of the original wax model. This cavity is then filled with molten glass.
The mold containing the molten glass is slowly cooled over an extended period, a process called annealing.
