Geometriatoleranciák, commonly referred to as geometric tolerancing, is a symbolic language used in engineering drawings to specify the permissible variation in form, orientation, location, and runout of a part's features. It provides a more precise and controlled method of defining acceptable dimensions compared to traditional coordinate tolerancing. Instead of simply defining the allowable range for a length or diameter, geometric tolerancing specifies how closely a feature must conform to its ideal geometric shape and position relative to other features.

The system uses a set of symbols and modifiers within a feature control frame to communicate these requirements. Key concepts include flatness, straightness, circularity, cylindricity, profile, perpendicularity, angularity, parallelism, position, concentricity, symmetry, and runout. Each symbol represents a specific geometric characteristic that needs to be controlled. For example, a "flatness" tolerance ensures that a surface lies within two parallel planes. A "position" tolerance dictates the allowable deviation of a feature's location from its theoretically exact position.

Geometric tolerancing is crucial for ensuring interchangeability of parts, reducing manufacturing costs by allowing for more realistic tolerances, and improving product quality and functionality.
