Förkastningarnas is a Swedish term that translates to "the faults" or "the fractures" and primarily refers to geological fault lines. In geology, a fault is a planar fracture in a body of rock across which there has been displacement or movement. This movement can occur over geological time and results in the rocks on either side of the fault being shifted relative to each other.

The concept of förkastningarnas is fundamental to understanding plate tectonics, earthquakes, and the formation of various landforms such as mountains, valleys, and rift systems.
