födémszerkezetet
Födémszerkezet refers to the structural system that forms the floor or ceiling of a building, dividing different levels or enclosing the uppermost space. In Hungarian architecture and construction, this term encompasses a variety of solutions depending on the era, materials available, and structural requirements. Historically, wooden beam structures were common, especially in older buildings. These consist of parallel wooden joists spanning between walls, supporting a floor above or a ceiling below. The spaces between the joists might be filled with various materials for insulation and soundproofing, such as straw, reeds, or later, mineral wool.
With advancements in technology and materials, reinforced concrete floor structures became prevalent, particularly in post-war construction.
