When a measurement or a curve is described as "frekvensvektede" (frequency-weighted), it means that the signal's response or impact is adjusted based on its frequency content.

This weighting is often employed to align objective measurements with subjective human perception. For example, in acoustics, sound levels are frequently measured using frequency-weighted filters, such as A-weighting or C-weighting. A-weighting, for instance, approximates the sensitivity of the human ear at moderate loudness levels, giving more importance to mid-range frequencies and less to very low and very high frequencies. C-weighting has a flatter response, giving more emphasis to lower frequencies.
