Foosball, also known as table football or table soccer, is a table-top game that simulates a soccer match. Two or more players typically control a rod-based assembly of miniature figures representing soccer players. The objective of the game is to score goals by manipulating the figures to strike a ball into the opposing player's goal. The table features spinning rods that players turn and slide to control their players and maneuver the ball.

The game is played on a rectangular table with a smooth playing surface. Each side of the table has several rods, each with a set of figures attached. The number and arrangement of figures can vary depending on the table design, but commonly include a goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders, and forwards. Players stand on opposite sides of the table and use handles attached to the rods to move their figures and attempt to score.

Foosball can be played with two players (singles) or four players (doubles). In singles, each player controls all the rods on their side. In doubles, two players share control of the rods on each side, with one player typically managing the defensive rods and the other the offensive rods. Matches are usually played to a predetermined number of goals, often ten.

The game requires a combination of skill, strategy, and quick reflexes. Players develop techniques such as shooting, passing, and blocking by practicing and understanding the physics of the ball and table. Foosball tables are found in various settings, including bars, recreation centers, and homes, and competitive tournaments are held internationally.
