Fleksotrükk, also known as flexographic printing, is a modern printing method that utilizes a flexible relief plate onto which the image is raised. The ink is transferred from the printing plate to the substrate, which can be paper, plastic film, foil, or other materials. This process is commonly used for printing on packaging, labels, and newspapers.

The core components of a flexographic printing press include ink fountains, anilox rollers, printing plates, and impression cylinders. The anilox roller, a key element, is a metal or ceramic roller engraved with cells that meter a precise amount of ink to the printing plate. The printing plate, made of rubber or photopolymer, has the raised image that receives ink from the anilox roller and transfers it to the substrate. The impression cylinder supports the substrate and applies pressure to ensure a clean transfer of ink.

Flexography is known for its versatility, ability to print on a wide range of substrates, including non-porous materials, and its high printing speeds. It is an environmentally friendly option due to the use of water-based or UV-curing inks, which reduce volatile organic compound emissions. The process is also cost-effective for long print runs. Despite its advantages, achieving extremely fine detail can sometimes be a challenge compared to other printing methods like offset printing.
