Fibroglandüler refers to a type of breast tissue composition characterized by a mixture of fibrous (connective) tissue and glandular (milk-producing) tissue. This combination is a normal part of breast anatomy and varies among individuals, influencing breast density and appearance on mammograms.

Breasts primarily consist of lobules, ducts, and stromal components, including fibrous and fatty tissues. Fibroglandüler tissue is denser than fatty tissue but less dense than purely glandular tissue. The proportion of these components can change with age, hormonal fluctuations, and reproductive history, such as pregnancy or menopause.

On mammographic imaging, fibroglandüler tissue appears as a heterogeneous pattern of varying densities, often classified as "dense" on radiologic reports. High breast density, where fibroglandüler tissue predominates, can make it more difficult to detect abnormalities such as tumors on mammograms, increasing the risk of false negatives. For this reason, women with dense breasts may require additional screening methods, such as ultrasound or MRI, alongside mammography.

Fibroglandüler tissue is not inherently pathological but is a natural variation in breast structure. However, changes in tissue composition—such as increased fibrosis or glandular hyperplasia—may warrant medical evaluation, particularly if accompanied by symptoms like lumps, pain, or nipple discharge. Regular breast self-exams and clinical screenings remain essential for early detection of any potential issues.
