Feszültségképződés refers to the process of voltage generation. This phenomenon can occur through various mechanisms, most commonly through electromagnetic induction or the chemical reactions within a voltaic cell.

Electromagnetic induction, described by Faraday's law, is the production of an electromotive force (voltage) across an electrical conductor in a changing magnetic field. This principle is fundamental to the operation of electric generators and transformers. A changing magnetic flux through a coil of wire induces a voltage in the coil. The magnitude of the induced voltage is proportional to the rate of change of the magnetic flux and the number of turns in the coil.

In a voltaic cell, also known as a galvanic cell or battery, voltage is generated through spontaneous redox reactions. These cells consist of two half-cells, each containing an electrolyte and an electrode. At one electrode (the anode), oxidation occurs, releasing electrons. At the other electrode (the cathode), reduction occurs, consuming electrons. The difference in the electrochemical potential between the two half-cells drives the flow of electrons through an external circuit, creating a voltage. The specific chemical reactions and the materials used determine the voltage produced by the cell.

Other methods of feszültségképződés include the piezoelectric effect, where certain materials generate a voltage when subjected to mechanical stress, and the Seebeck effect, a thermoelectric phenomenon where a temperature difference across a junction of two different conductors or semiconductors produces a voltage.
