Evaporitok is a term used in geology to describe a deposit of evaporite minerals. Evaporites are sedimentary rocks that form when a body of water evaporates, leaving behind dissolved minerals. These minerals can include halite (rock salt), gypsum, anhydrite, and various sulfates, chlorides, and borates. Evaporitok deposits are often found in arid or semi-arid climates where evaporation rates are high. They can also form in restricted basins, such as marine lagoons or playas, where the influx of fresh water is limited.

The formation of evaporitok involves a process of precipitation. As water evaporates, the concentration of dissolved salts increases. Eventually, the solution becomes saturated, and minerals begin to crystallize and settle out of the water.
