Eräladi is a term used in fantasy literature and in constructed-language communities to denote a fictional ethnolinguistic group and the language they are said to speak. The term is not tied to real-world peoples and appears in multiple imaginative settings with varying details.

Geography and society often place the eräladi in a coastal or island region, commonly described as the Elan Archipelago. They are portrayed as seafaring traders and artisans, with a social organization that emphasizes kinship networks, guilds, and maritime skills. In many depictions, city-states or autonomous villages cluster around harbors, and oral tradition plays a central role in governance and law.

Language and writing are central to the eräladi concept. The eräladi language is typically described as agglutinative, featuring extensive verb morphology and rich evidential or aspect markers. Its syntax is flexible, with a tendency toward subject–object–verb orders in neutral narration. A writing system called Elari is sometimes attributed to the eräladi, used for ceremonial inscriptions as well as everyday record-keeping on bamboo, parchment, or carved stone.

History and culture are commonly explored through myth and legend. Canonical stories often recount the Great Crossing, a seaborne migration that purportedly linked disparate isles and seeded a distinctive navigational lore, music, and craft traditions. Folklore frequently highlights sea gods, star maps, and seasonal rites tied to fishing and trade.

In scholarship and fan communities, eräladi is used as a test case for maritime adaptation in world-building, linguistic typology in conlangs, and the ethical portrayal of fictional cultures.
