Epiduráln refers to a type of regional anesthesia administered into the epidural space, which is the area just outside the dura mater, the outermost membrane covering the spinal cord. This injection delivers anesthetic medication, often combined with opioids, to block nerve signals from a specific region of the body, primarily for pain relief.

The procedure typically involves inserting a needle into the epidural space, usually in the lower or mid-back. A thin, flexible tube called an epidural catheter is then threaded through the needle. Once the catheter is in place, the needle is removed, and medication is administered through the catheter. This allows for continuous delivery of pain relief.
