Entkuppelt is a term found in German-language contexts that is generally used to indicate a state of decoupling or detachment. The standard and widely accepted form is entkoppelt, derived from ent- (a prefix meaning “un-” or release) and koppeln (to couple). Entkoppelt describes a situation in which two systems, components, or processes are no longer linked in their operation or influence on one another.

In engineering and technology, entkoppelt is used to describe decoupled subsystems, such as a drivetrain that has been disengaged or an electrical setup designed to suppress interference through decoupling.
