Energirelease is a general term used in energy science to describe the release of stored energy from a system. It encompasses processes in chemistry, physics, and materials science where energy is liberated as heat, light, radiation, or mechanical work. The term does not denote a single specific mechanism but describes the outcome of energy liberation, often quantified by the total energy released (Q or E) and the rate at which energy is released (power, P).
