Endoskopiatyypit refer to the various types of endoscopic examinations used in medical diagnostics and treatment. Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows doctors to visualize the inside of the body using a flexible tube with a camera and light attached, known as an endoscope. The type of endoscope used and the area of the body examined determine the specific endoscopic procedure.

Commonly performed endoscopias include gastroscopy (esophagogastroduodenoscopy) for examining the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum; colonoscopy for inspecting the colon and rectum; and bronchoscopy for visualizing the airways. Other types include cystoscopy for examining the bladder, laparoscopy for abdominal and pelvic organs, and arthroscopy for joints. Each procedure is tailored to investigate specific organs or body cavities, aiding in the diagnosis of conditions such as inflammation, ulcers, polyps, tumors, and bleeding. Endoscopy also allows for biopsies to be taken and certain treatments to be performed during the examination, such as polyp removal or stopping bleeding.
