Endoscopisch refers to a medical procedure that uses an endoscope, a flexible or rigid tube with a light and camera attached, to examine the inside of a body cavity or organ. This minimally invasive technique allows physicians to visualize internal structures, diagnose various conditions, and perform certain treatments without the need for major surgery.

The endoscope is inserted into the body through a natural opening, such as the mouth, anus, or nose, or through a small incision. The camera transmits images to a monitor, providing a detailed view of the area being examined. Different types of endoscopies are named based on the body part being investigated, for example, gastroscopy examines the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum; colonoscopy examines the large intestine; and bronchoscopy examines the airways.

Endoscopic procedures are crucial for diagnosing a wide range of conditions, including ulcers, inflammation, polyps, tumors, and bleeding. Biopsies can be taken during the procedure for further laboratory analysis. In addition to diagnosis, endoscopes can be used for therapeutic interventions such as removing polyps, stopping bleeding, dilating narrowed passages, or retrieving foreign objects. The recovery time after an endoscopic procedure is generally shorter than with traditional surgery, and patients often experience less pain and discomfort.
