An eläkelautakunta, or pension board, is a body responsible for making decisions regarding pension applications and appeals in Finland. These boards typically operate at a municipal or regional level, or as part of larger pension institutions. Their primary function is to assess whether an individual meets the legal requirements for receiving a pension, whether it be an earnings-related pension, a national pension, or another type of social security benefit.

The eläkelautakunta reviews medical reports, employment history, and other relevant documentation to determine eligibility for disability pensions, old-age pensions, or survivors' pensions. If an applicant is dissatisfied with a decision made by the Finnish Centre for Pensions (Eläketurvakeskus) or a specific pension provider, they can lodge an appeal with the eläkelautakunta. The board then re-examines the case, often holding hearings where the applicant or their representative can present their arguments.

The members of an eläkelautakunta are usually appointed and represent various stakeholders, including employers, employees, and medical professionals, to ensure a balanced perspective.
