Elektrokromatikus, also known as electrochromic, refers to a class of materials that change their optical properties in response to an applied electrical potential. This phenomenon is often utilized in smart windows and displays, where the transparency or color of the material can be dynamically adjusted.

The underlying mechanism of elektrokromatikus materials involves the movement of charged particles, such as ions or electrons, within the material. When an electric field is applied, these particles rearrange, altering the material's refractive index and thus its ability to transmit or absorb light.
