Drymix refers to premixed dry blends of cementitious materials combined with aggregates and sometimes additives that are intended to be mixed with water at the construction site to produce mortar or concrete. These powders are produced in controlled factories to ensure consistent proportions and quality and are sold in bagged or bulk form for convenience and reliability.

Common drymix products include dry-mix concrete, dry mortar (masonry mortar), dry plaster mixes, and tile or flooring adhesives. Dry-mix concrete typically contains Portland cement, graded aggregates, and sometimes supplementary cementitious materials such as fly ash or slag, along with chemical admixtures. Dry mortar and plaster mixes generally comprise cementitious binders, lime, sand, and specific additives to improve workability, adhesion, or curing. Tile adhesives may include cementitious powder with polymers and fillers designed for bonding tiles to substrates.

Manufacturing of drymix involves controlled dosing, blending, and quality control in a factory setting, followed by drying and packaging. Packaging is usually in bags (commonly around 25 kg) or delivered in bulk via silos, with moisture control to preserve performance during storage and transport.

Applications span the construction spectrum, including structural or non-structural concrete, masonry mortar, plastering, tile setting, and surface repair or leveling. The main advantages are consistent mix design and strength, reduced on-site measurement and waste, faster installation, and often longer shelf life when kept dry. Limitations include sensitivity to moisture during storage, the need to follow exact water ratios for curing, and dust-generation during handling, which necessitates appropriate PPE and dust-control measures.
