A druktransducer, commonly known in English as a pressure transducer, is a device that converts mechanical pressure into an electrical signal. It typically comprises a pressure-sensing element linked to a transduction mechanism and may include signal conditioning to provide a usable output for monitoring or control systems.

The sensing element often relies on a diaphragm or membrane that deflects under pressure. The transduction mechanism then converts this mechanical deflection into an electrical quantity, such as resistance (piezoresistive strain gauges), capacitance (capacitive sensors), or a piezoelectric or optical signal. Depending on design, a druktransducer may output an analog voltage or current (for example, 0–5 V, 0–10 V, or 4–20 mA) or a digital signal for embedded systems. Some devices are designed as true transducers (signal generation) while others function as transmitters with additional signal conditioning and isolation.

Construction varies with application. Common forms use metal, ceramic, or silicon diaphragms, and housings that suit harsh industrial environments. Protection ratings, temperature compensation, and electrical isolation are important features, as are calibration and zero/span adjustments. Accuracy classes, response time, and operating temperature range influence suitability for specific tasks.

Applications span industrial process control, hydraulics and pneumatics, automotive and aerospace systems, medical devices, and environmental monitoring. Key considerations include long-term stability, shock and vibration sensitivity, and resistance to corrosion. Proper calibration and adherence to relevant standards ensure reliable measurements across operating conditions.
