dorsalfacing
Dorsalfacing is an anatomical and descriptive term used to indicate that a surface, feature, or structure is oriented toward the dorsal (back) side of an organism or object with a defined dorsal–ventral axis. When something is dorsally facing, it presents or points toward the back or upper side rather than the underside (ventral side).
In human and veterinary anatomy, dorsal refers to the back portion of the body or limbs. The
Dorsalfacing is often contrasted with ventral-facing, which describes orientation toward the ventral (belly or underside) side.
Etymology: the term combines the Latin dorsalis (of the back) with facing, reflecting its directional meaning
