Dopaminovou is an adjectival form used in Czech to refer to anything connected with dopamine, a neurotransmitter and neuromodulator. In medical and scientific contexts it appears in expressions such as dopaminová dráha (dopaminergic pathway) or dopaminové receptory. The term describes processes, neurons, and pharmacological effects that involve dopamine signaling.

Dopamine is a catecholamine neurotransmitter synthesized from the amino acid tyrosine. In the brain it regulates movement, motivation, reward, mood, and endocrine functions. It acts through five known receptors, D1 through D5, grouped into D1-like (D1, D5) and D2-like (D2, D3, D4) families. Dopaminergic signaling is terminated mainly by reuptake via the dopamine transporter and by enzymatic degradation with MAO and COMT.

Dopaminergic pathways include the nigrostriatal pathway (substantia nigra to striatum) important for movement; the mesolimbic and mesocortical pathways implicated in reward, motivation, and cognition; and the tuberoinfundibular pathway regulating prolactin release from the pituitary. These pathways are targets of drugs and implicated in various disorders.

Clinical relevance: degeneration of nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons underlies Parkinson's disease; treatment often uses L-DOPA or dopamine agonists. Altered dopaminergic signaling is associated with schizophrenia, addiction, ADHD, and mood disorders. Pharmacological agents that modulate dopaminergic signaling include agonists, antagonists, reuptake inhibitors, and enzyme inhibitors.

Research and terminology: Imaging methods such as PET use radioligands to study D2 receptors and dopamine synthesis capacity. The Czech term dopaminovou is part of a wider lexicon describing dopaminergic processes and remains a standard linguistic form in professional writing.
