DIRBS, short for Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System, is a regulatory initiative of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) designed to identify, register, and block mobile devices used on the country’s networks. Launched in 2018, DIRBS centralizes device information from telecom operators, customs authorities, and other sources into a unified database to prevent the use of unregistered, counterfeit, or stolen handsets.
