Diplomaonderdeel is a Dutch term used in higher education to refer to a distinct unit within a degree program that counts toward the awarded diploma. Each diplomaonderdeel represents a set of knowledge, skills and competencies and is defined by learning outcomes, assessment criteria and a credit value (often expressed in study points such as ECs). Diplomaonderdelen can take several forms, including courses or modules, practical assignments, projects, internships, examinations, or the final thesis (afstudeeropdracht). They are listed in the program's examination regulations and study guide and are designed to ensure the curriculum covers the intended competencies.

In most Dutch degree structures, a student must complete all required diplomaonderdelen and meet any program-wide requirements (such as minimum average grade) to obtain the diploma. Credits from diplomaonderdelen are accumulated toward the total program credit load, and, in the European higher education area, align to the ECTS framework to support transfer and comparability.

The term is primarily used in the Netherlands and Flanders and is common in both research universities (wo) and universities of applied sciences (hbo). In everyday use, diplomaonderdelen are sometimes referred to more generically as modules, courses, or units; the exact terminology and organization can vary by institution.
