Differenciáltopológia, sometimes translated as differential topology, is a branch of mathematics that studies differentiable manifolds and their properties. It combines the tools of differential calculus with the concepts of topology to investigate the smooth structures of spaces. This field is concerned with the classification of manifolds, the study of vector fields and differential forms, and the existence of various geometric structures on manifolds.

A key concept in differential topology is the differentiable manifold itself, which is a topological space that locally resembles Euclidean space and allows for the application of calculus. This local resemblance means that around any point on the manifold, there exists a coordinate system allowing for differentiation. Properties such as smoothness, continuity, and differentiability are central to the study of these manifolds.
