Dekongesztánssal, also known as decongestants, are a class of medications used to relieve nasal congestion. This congestion is a common symptom of colds, flu, allergies, and sinusitis, and is typically caused by swollen blood vessels in the nasal passages. Decongestants work by constricting these blood vessels, which reduces swelling and allows for easier breathing.

The primary active ingredients in many decongestants are sympathomimetic amines, such as pseudoephedrine and phenylephrine. These compounds mimic the effects of adrenaline, leading to vasoconstriction. They can be administered orally in tablet or liquid form, or intranasally as sprays or drops.
