Csalogatni is a Hungarian village and administrative center of Csalogát District in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County.

Csalogatni has a population of approximately 3,200 people. Geographically, it is situated in the Northern Hungary region, in the Szinpetri microregion of the Bükk Mountains. The topography is characterized by moderate elevation and a well-wooded terrain, which provides several recreational opportunities for the residents and visitors.

Historically, Csalogatni has been inhabited by various ethnic groups throughout the centuries. Early records dating back to the Middle Ages indicate that the village has remained a rural and agricultural community. However, the rise of industrialization in the 19th century led to an influx of migrants who contributed to the overall demography and economy of the village.

Community life is shaped by several institutions and festivals. A Roman Catholic Church plays a central role in the spiritual life of the residents. Traditional folk architecture still exists in the form of Napovel High Gate, no longer in use but still recognizable, reflecting a bygone era.

Education is valued in the community with two schools providing primary and secondary teaching. Cultural expression also finds its outlet through occasional hand-press and folk dancing events as well as a winter ice-skating rink and a local library. Rural transportation is available with regular bus routes connecting the village to nearby bigger towns.
