A corselet, also known as a bustier or basque, is a piece of women's undergarment that extends from the bust to the hips. It is typically made of firm material and is designed to shape the torso and provide support. Corselets were particularly popular in the early to mid-20th century as an alternative to the more restrictive corsets of earlier eras.

The primary function of a corselet is to flatten the stomach, cinch the waist, and lift the bust, creating a smoother silhouette under clothing. Many corselets feature boning, which are rigid inserts made of whalebone, steel, or plastic, to enhance their shaping capabilities. They often incorporate adjustable straps and sometimes have garters attached to hold up stockings.

While their use has declined with the advent of more flexible modern lingerie and shapewear, corselets are still produced today, often as vintage-inspired items or for specialized garments. They can be found in various styles, from simple, smooth designs to more elaborate versions with lace and embellishments. The term "corselet" can sometimes be used interchangeably with "bustier," though a corselet generally extends lower down the body than a typical bustier.
