Colorerai is an open-source framework and collection of tools for AI-assisted colorization and color grading of visual media. It is designed to provide automated color inference for grayscale inputs while enabling human-guided adjustments to influence palette, tone, and style.

The core system uses deep neural networks to infer plausible colors for grayscale inputs, while offering user-friendly controls for palette selection, tonality, and style transfer. It supports both still images and video frames, with mechanisms to maintain temporal consistency across sequences. The architecture commonly combines encoder–decoder components with diffusion or transformer-based elements, and is trained on large paired datasets and user feedback.

The project has a distributed development model and is released under an open-source license. It provides a modular API, a command-line interface, and a web-based editor.
