Additional assessments may cover aggregation kinetics, rheological properties of suspensions, and response to changes in pH, ionic strength, or temperature. The choice of techniques is influenced by the material system and the intended application, such as pharmaceuticals, paints, food emulsions, or nanomaterials.

Limitations include dependence on sample preparation, concentration effects, and instrument calibration. Because colloidal systems are often polydisperse and unstable under certain conditions, results from colloidsetest should be interpreted in context and validated with complementary methods.
