ciTx

ciTx is a protocol and software suite intended to facilitate secure, scalable transaction processing across distributed and heterogeneous networks. It aims to provide end-to-end auditing, strong cryptographic protections, and interoperable data models for cross-system workflows.

The core stack comprises a transaction ledger with tamper-evident logging, a cross-network messaging protocol, and a policy-based execution engine. It uses modular adapters to connect with different networks (financial rails, supply-chain systems, IoT platforms). Consensus is lightweight to enable high throughput; cryptographic assurances include digital signatures, tamper-evident receipts, and optional privacy-preserving features such as selective disclosure.

Originating as an open standard and reference implementation published by the ciTx Foundation in 2022, ciTx has been used in pilot programs across finance and logistics. The ecosystem includes a reference core, client SDKs for major languages, and deployment guides. It emphasizes interoperability through shared data models and standardized APIs.

Governance and development are managed by an independent foundation with contributor agreements. The project is organized around a modular, plug-in architecture that supports extensions, security audits, and conformance tests. ciTx aims to be technology-neutral, accommodating both on-chain and off-chain components and encouraging interoperability across different system boundaries.
