Chrztu is the genitive singular form of the Polish noun chrzest, which means baptism. It appears in phrases such as data chrztu (date of baptism), świadectwo chrztu (certificate of baptism), and akt chrztu (baptismal act).

Chrzest is a Christian sacrament of initiation and purification through water, celebrated by many Christian traditions and churches. In Catholic and Orthodox churches, it is typically administered to infants, though adult baptism also occurs in some denominations. The rite symbolically cleanses from sin, initiates the believer into the Christian community, and is associated with receiving the Holy Spirit and grace.
