Centraltrycket is a meteorological term used primarily in the Nordic countries to denote the atmospheric pressure measured at the centre of a cyclonic or anticyclonic pressure system. The value of centraltrycket is expressed in hectopascals (hPa) and is derived from observations taken by weather stations located near the system’s centre, often supplemented by data from satellite remote sensing and numerical weather prediction models.

Centraltrycket is a key indicator for forecasting the development and movement of mid‑latitude weather systems. A low centraltrycket (low‑pressure centre) typically corresponds to a cyclone, which is associated with cloud formation, precipitation, and stronger wind fields. Conversely, a high centraltrycket (high‑pressure centre) characterises an anticyclone, which usually brings drier and more stable conditions.
