These diseases can vary significantly in their causes, symptoms, and severity, from mild and temporary issues to chronic and life-threatening illnesses.

Common symptoms associated with bélbetegség can include abdominal pain, changes in bowel habits (such as diarrhea or constipation), bloating, gas, nausea, vomiting, and rectal bleeding. The specific manifestations depend heavily on the underlying condition. For instance, inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are characterized by chronic inflammation of the digestive tract, leading to persistent abdominal pain and diarrhea, often with blood. Infections, whether viral, bacterial, or parasitic, can cause acute gastroenteritis, presenting with rapid onset of vomiting and diarrhea.
