bladesarranged
bladesarranged is a contemporary art practice that involves the deliberate arrangement of steel blades, knives, and other edged objects to create visual compositions, sculptures, and installation pieces. Originating in the early 2010s in Europe, the practice draws on a lineage of assemblage work and the industrial aesthetic of found objects while incorporating a strong emphasis on safety, ethical sourcing, and environmental responsibility. Artists such as Lukas Wagner, María Fernanda Ortiz, and the collective Fluxus Forge developed a lexicon of techniques that mix rusted blades with recyclable metal, glass, and reclaimed wood, producing works that explore themes of violence, transformation, and the relationship between human craft and industrial production.
The first major public installation titled “Prone Landscape” was unveiled in 2014 at the Kunsthaus Berlin, drawing
