Begrepp is the Swedish term for concept, an abstract unit of thought used to categorize experiences and communicate ideas. It denotes a mental representation that can be defined, debated, and applied to reasoning. A begrepp may refer to a single notion or to a set of properties that group objects or ideas.

In philosophy and logic, begrepp are analyzed in terms of their intension (innehåll) and extension (omfattning). The intension is the set of attributes that constitute the concept, while the extension is the collection of objects that fall under it. Philosophers study how begrepp are formed, how they relate to language, and how definitions constrain reasoning.

In linguistics and cognitive science, begrepp address the relationship between signs and what they denote, including how concepts are learned, represented, and communicated. Concepts can be fuzzy or prototype-based, with gradations rather than sharp boundaries. Educational contexts often use begreppsbildning or begreppsutveckling to describe how learners acquire and restructure concepts.
