Basresponsen is a term used in several Nordic scientific literatures to denote the baseline response: the typical resting level of a measurable signal before an experimental stimulus. The concept is applied across disciplines such as neuroscience, physiology, psychology, pharmacology, and human-computer interaction. While the exact definition of baseline can vary by modality, basresponsen generally refers to the pre-stimulus state from which deviations are assessed.

Measuring basresponsen typically involves selecting a baseline window immediately before the stimulus or event, calculating a central tendency (such as the mean or median), and, where appropriate, adjusting subsequent data by baseline subtraction or normalization. In neuroimaging and electrophysiology, baseline correction helps isolate stimulus-related activity and reduce drift or noise.
