Attitudea is a neologism used in social science to describe a proposed framework for understanding how attitudes are activated, expressed, and modified across different contexts. The term blends attitude with a suffix that signals a systemic rather than a single internal state. It has appeared in theoretical discussions of attitude formation and digital behavior since the early 2020s and remains an emerging concept.

In the attitudea model, attitudes are treated as distributed and context-dependent. A person’s stance in a given situation reflects interactions among core beliefs, affect, perceived norms, and the immediate environment, including online signals and platform affordances. Attitudea emphasizes modality, allowing for attitudes to be stored as cognitive propositions, affective dispositions, or action tendencies that can be activated by memory cues, social interaction, or algorithmic prompts.

Measurement of attitudea relies on mixed methods. Traditional surveys and scales may be used alongside experience sampling, implicit measures, and computational analysis of text and behavior to approximate attitudea profiles across contexts.

Applications span consumer research, political psychology, and human–computer interaction. The framework aims to explain discrepancies between stated beliefs and observed behavior, particularly in digital environments where context and algorithmic influence are salient.

Critics warn that attitudea risks vagueness without precise definitions and rigorous validation, given the variability of context-dependent attitudes.
